Our last week of the half term was a busy one. We did some fantastic writing as part of our traditional tales unit of work. We planned and wrote our own version of Jack and the Beanstalk but included twists and role reversals for the main characters. We also built our fire engines as part of our DT project focussed on wheels and axles. On Friday, we enjoyed performing a poem entitled 'Full of Surprises' to the rest of the school as part of St Dominic's poetry recital. We had to learn the words off by heart and spoke really clearly in assembly. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing what the other classes had prepared and were even 'treated' to a surprise performance by the teachers!
After half term, we will be starting a new topic all about Roald Dahl. We will be reading different stories by this author and writing our own chapters and sequels. We are really looking forward to 'Roald Dahl Day' where we will dress as out favourite Roald Dahl character and join in lots of fun activities based around his most popular stories. More information about this will come out after half term.
We will be continuing with our plant topic in science and hopefully as the weather begins to warm, we will be able to grow more plants. The first week back will be Financial Capability week so we will be learning about money and saving in our maths lessons. We also have World Book day to look forward to and Science, Maths and Engineering week!
See you after the break!
